Hello All.My 790 has 8 hours on it and i've noticed a "pulsing" in reverse, seemingly in low range only.It appears to do it mainly when backing downhill, although i have noticed it do it on level ground.Seems to be uneffected by load. It's borderline "jerking",but it doesn't do it continuosly. The tranny doesn't make any unusual noise, except for the slight high pitched whine when in low range.Any thoughts? Thanks!

I don't think you have a tranny problem . My John Deere 790 and 950 both do about the same thing . I noticed that its more noticeable at lower rpm and is related some normal gear lash and the torque of your engine. If you were under a heavy load (moving a heavy load ) and had your rpm at about 2000 rpm and above you should not notice anything but the tranny whine. I have hade my 950 for over 23 years and 14768 hours and to best of my memory it always been that way. even our old WD 45 allis chalmers used to do that . If you still think you have a problem contact your dealer, he should only be happy to help.I hope this might shead some light .

Jim ....
